H1N1 My experiences

Carrie

Our news seems to be bombarding mothers with the bad news about H1N1, get the vaccine, baby dies overnight, healthy boy quickly sick and passes away. Hearing this news is awful, alarming and continues ones difficult decision to vaccinate or not to... so I would like to share my experiences with H1N1 to start giving another side to this illness.

I hope you will share your experiences with H1N1

Two doctors confirmed my husband had H1N1. Symptoms were a high fever, chest pain, stomach sick, very bad body aches and headaches. Treatment we did was vitamin B and C, drank lots of water, took Engystol and when headaches were really bad did tylenol. The flu is now gone with still a mild cough.

Our family had the H1N1

Our family had the H1N1 before the vaccine was available. We were instructed to treat it like any other flu unless things got really worse. It was not that bad.

I had the flu as well, it lasted longer in my chest then normal but seemed like last year's flu. I took lots of water and rested, in a week almost all symptoms were gone.

My sister had H1N1 it lasted

My sister had H1N1 it lasted longer then the normal flu and her chest was more painful then a flu in the past. Yet she recovered with no lasting side effects or nor did she have a serious complication.

There are situations in

There are situations in which young people catch the "regular" flu, become very ill and die just as quickly as was reported about H1N1. It's just not reported... better reporting that offers perspective is vital in media in order to avoid sensationalism.

Also, pregant women were part of the group to get the H1N1 shot first, yet the "safe" shot for pregnant women wasn't available yet. Hmm... I refused it and my baby is healthy.
