Suggestions for Vaccine-Friendly Doctors in Vancouver

Vancouver

I have a 3 month old daughter and am having a really hard time with the decisions on which vaccines to do/when.  I am reading "The Vaccine Book", by Dr. Robert W. Sears and am finding it very useful, but am having a really hard time with the Public Health Centres in regards to doing anything BUT their schedules.  Does anyone have any recommendations for vaccine-friendly doctors?... help!

I have been looking in Surrey as well.. ug!

Just a thought here...

Have heard of/considered a Naturopathic approach? I don't know if you've done any research on what is in vaccines, but such things as animal viruses, mercury, aluminum and acetone are just a few. To top it off, Wyeth, the drug company that makes them doesn't even have to fully disclose all ingredients because it "violates their privacy." There is also a growing body of research pointing to vaccines(namely the MMR one)causing autism. Lastly, vaccines haven't even been proven to work, as they were developed after the epidemics had already burnt themselves out. Polio is a perfect example.

I saw Dr. Scott Tyler in Langley about this, and I am using a homeopthic 'immunization' kit(there's a difference)for my children. It is totally healthy, safe and natural. Worth investigating :)

Great point, on going with a Naturopath... I ended up not immunizing my kids after learning some of the points you mentioned... and the concern of so many shots into such a tiny developing body.

Although to add to your points, I was also told some shots may be good when they are older and their immunity can handle it. If that is the case, who will do those selected shots?

I am not sure about where

I am not sure about where one would go at an older age for vaccinations. I'm sure a quick call to the health unit would give the answer, but be aware that they can be rather belligerent about following 'the schedule'. Delaying vaccinations would certainly be preferable to overloading a baby's system all at once. Just to broaden the point about homeopathics, the difference between it and conventional medicine is that it uses the priciple of similars, and is very dilute, rather than drugs/chemicals which are foreign to the body. Such preparations enable the body to build resistance in a much more natural manner. Certainly, drugs do have their place, but with such raging controversy over this issue, it doesn't hurt to look into the options.

Thanks and keep any

Thanks and keep any suggestions coming please!

I called 4 naturopathic offices in Langley (haven't found Dr. Tyler yet), but none of them do vaccines...

I heard from another patient of his, that there was a possibility of getting the 'greener' vaccines (those with less aluminum, animal byproducts etc. than those that Public Health offers). I hope I can track him down or find someone who does this.

I wonder what the effectiveness of a mother getting the shots while breastfeeding is, or if there is any research on that. I'm guessing our doses are substantially higher, but just a silly thought.
