The Importance of Some Illness
- An absence of illness is not necessarily good for us. Illness helps our bodies in building up our immune system, aiding our bodies in dealing with infections. This is especially critical for children, who have immature immune systems at birth and need to develop their immune systems through illness.
- We need to welcome the messages we see coming from our bodies in order to discover what are body is trying to tell us. Running nose, coughs, headaches they are symptoms that indicate our body is trying to fight off a problem. If we research these symptoms rather then suppress them we can get to the root cause of why our children are suffering.
- Taking medicines that suppress these symptoms, make us feel better, yet they shut off the messages are body is trying to tell us. We need to get to the root of the problem to stop new issues from arising.
For example:
- Hydrocortisone cream may ease the inflammation of eczema yet it does nothing to treat the cause of the condition.
- An anti-inflammatory will reduce inflammation but when the medication ceases the condition will return.
- Ventolin doesn’t make asthma go away, it allows the sufferer to breath.
