NOT ANOTHER NEW ILLNESS

I heard about another terrible illness called Henoch-Schonlein Purpura, HSP today. This illness is a form of blood vessel inflammation, affecting the small arterial vessels and the kidneys. A person with this illness suffers from painful joints and rashes. They are not sure what causes this, yet state that "it's an unusual reaction of the body's immune system that is in response to an infection either bacterial or viral" http://www.medicinenet.com/henoch-schonlein_purpura/article.htm I cannot imagine having to deal with this especially if the person diagnosed was your child.

When I hear of a new illness and another child suffering from an allergy, I can't help but wonder what is happening in our environment. Robyn O'Brien talks about her experience with allergies on Good Morning America the news report covers the possible links between the increased problems of allergies in our children and the additives in our processed foods. One has to question why many of the additives in our processed foods are banned in Europe yet not in North America.
