ALWAYS A GREAT IDEA... READING A BOOK

I am sure most would agree a book is always a great thing to turn to. Books become apart of our lives when we are on vacation, relaxing before bed or just wanting to take some time out. It's such a great habit to read as an adult, as a reader we learn about other people's lives, historical events or have a quick escape.

Since reading is so important as adults it's also important to ensure we develop this with our children. We came across some great books that are written by a local author, here in BC. Hope you get a chance to check them out:

Award-winning author Christopher Aslan brings us the first 2 books in his inspirational and touching picturebook series that has been hailed, “An Education of the Heart”. First first title, Lilly and Lucy’s Shadow, received the prestigious iParenting Award for Excellence in the children’s picturebook category.

Christopher’s real-life experiences have guided him through these stories, and the universal themes of wisdom and love can be enjoyed by kids, parents, teachers, and just about anyone who decides to have a look…

Lilly and Lucy’s Shadow is a delightful little tale about two crazy-haired girls that are introduced to their shadows while playing in the park. Instead of running away, Lilly and Lucy muster the courage to turn and face their fear while making a simple choice that will touch your heart and rest your mind. A wonderful story reminding us all that fear isn't so scary after all!

Wenda the Wacky Wiggler is the story of a happily unique little girl who absolutely loves to dance.  She loves to shake.  She loves to wiggle.  She loves to move.  But her fellow townsfolk are a little on the gloomy side, and they don’t see the point in all the wiggling.  So, they take the music away. Wenda’s not quite sure what to do:You can’t dance without music, right? Wrong! To the town’s surprise, it’s in the actual silence that Wenda realizes that her love and joy came from inside, and that her wiggle was an expression of her happiness.  The cool thing is, happiness spreads quickly. It doesn’t take long before the whole town is wiggling right along with Wenda.

Wenda the Wacky Wiggler is a delightful tale that reminds each of us of our individual expressions of wisdom and love.
