Toddlers and VITAMIN D

We just had to come back to a quick review of Vitamin D again. There was a recent article in our local Vancouver news of toddlers lacking in Vitamin D. For many of you giving your children goat's milk versus cows milk, they are not receiving any Vitamin D in the milk (note that cows milk alone does not have enough either) and if your weather is anything like ours here in Vancouver your children are not receiving very much sunshine. Add these two factors together and you may want to think about Vitamin D being added to your children's routine.

Doctors are advising to give your child a Vitamin D supplement... for a toddler over one you can start with 400 IU. I have been doing this for my two and five year old and I have to say it really has made a difference. It does seem that there bodies are fighting off nasty colds much easier.
