TEETH and FILLINGS

Thought I would do a little blog on teeth. As I have stumbled upon another debate, fillings.

As I deal with my poor little girl having to get fillings, yes, the girls that eats well and doesn't even like sweets! Go figure. Please note if you live in BC we have no fluoride in water. I realize, the fluoride issue is another debate, yet I have concluded I should have my daughter on a children's regular toothpaste.

Back to fillings. I thought all dentists had decided to ban amalgam fillings because of the mercury, although I have recently found out that they are still using it. There is great points for both sides therefore it seems the decision comes down to the parents. What really is healthy for my child? What is hype and where is the truth?

I will share with you some of the information I found. To conclude, I have decided to go with the white fillings even though I even read some concerns over Bisphenol-A ...I understand parents, it never ends! My reasoning, if Health Canada is concerned about pregnant women, then there is enough of a concern for me to watch out for my growing and developing child.
